Use these guides to diagnose supplied XML, repair generator problems, and separate document errors from live delivery failures. The validator does not fetch deployed sitemap URLs or inspect Search Console.
Invalid sitemap XML
Find malformed XML, unsafe declarations, missing locations, and invalid optional values.
Sitemap namespace errors
Check the root element and required sitemap protocol namespace.
Sitemap index errors
Validate index entries and child sitemap locations without fetching them.
Search Console couldn't fetch
Trace retrieval failures through the submitted URL, robots rules, HTTP response, CDN, and XML body.
Sitemap too large
Handle the 50,000-entry and 50 MB limits with stable child files and a sitemap index.
Invalid sitemap URLs
